Mariannie Santiago

Allow us to introduce our effervescent front desk supervisor Mariannie Santiago. Mariannie just moved to the Magic City from the sunny shores of Puerto Rico three months ago. She has a biology degree, but her true passions have always been fashion, music, and exploring the great outdoors. Back home in PR, she worked as a fashion events producer and a stylist for local magazines. We can’t wait to see what kind of arty and outdoorsy things she’ll get into here in Miami. We caught a quick chat with her to find out how she’s settling in.

Freehand Miami: What inspired you to move to Miami?

Mariannie Santiago: I wanted to try something else and Miami had that perfect sunny weather that reminded me of home.

FH: What do you love most about Freehand Miami?

MS: I love the atmosphere here. You get to meet people from all over the world. You never know who you are going to meet next. Every day is a new adventure at The Freehand!

FH: What’s your favorite proverb from the collage in the lobby?

FH: What do you like to do/where do you like to hang out in Miami Beach?

MS: I love the beach either to get a tan, go for a jog or boot camp. I found this spot close to
my house called The Corner. Some days they have a live jazz band, which is awesome. I love
the Broken Shaker as well. It is such a nice spot to invite friends and enjoy one of the best
drinks you’ll ever have.

FH: How does Miami street fashion compare to what you saw back in Puerto Rico?

MS: It is kind of similar: beach dresses, shorts, and they love to get dressed up when they go
out to party!

FH: What about the music scene?

MS: I do like that I get to see more of my favorite bands and DJs play here since they didn’t
go to the island that often.

FH: If you could hang out at The Broken Shaker with anyone, living or dead, real or imaginary, who would it be?

MS: Johnny Depp serving while I have a conversation with James Franco and Pink Floyd
is playing in the background. Is there anything else one could ask for?
