Later this month, all of the crazed (in a good way) foodies and winos of the universe, including the professionals, will be converging on Miami for the star-studded, four-day fest that is South Beach Wine and Food Festival. What began as a modest, one-day fest waaay back in the 90s, has now become what Coachella is to the world’s music scene.

Broken Shaker masterminds Elad and Gabe have bestowed upon us their quick ‘n’ easy guide to it all, offering up some invaluable advice about all of the right places to be at all the right times during SOBEWFF. Because let’s be honest: navigating hundreds of events and 65,000+ attendees solo is enough to bring on a full-blown panic attack. Save that energy for eating and drinking.

4 ways to live it up during SOBEWFF: 

1. Ceviche & Pisco hosted by My Ceviche:

2/22 at 5pm: Drop by the rooftop of The Gale Hotel for a pisco-filled cocktail hour and some of My Ceviche’s freshest catches yet. ($95)

2. Broken Shaker BBQ with Georgio Rapicavoli from Eating House:

2/23 at 3pm: With Georgio on the eats and Broken Shaker on the drinks, this backyard BBQ is going to be nothing short of orgasmic. Throw in some live music, a dip in the pool and a heated game of ping pong and it’s a full-on Sunday-funday. (Free)

3. Swine and Wine hosted by Michelle Bernstein:

2/23 at 5:30pm: In short: The pig roasts of pig roasts. Let culinary genius Michelle Bernstein and her fellow pork-purveying colleagues make your taste buds dance with some of the most tender meat you have yet to indulge in. ($150)

4. Best of the Munchies hosted by Andrew Zimmern:

2/23 at 6pm: Why you should attend: Partly because of its name, but mostly because the lineup of fare is essentially all of our favorite guilty pleasures ever, e.g. burgers, tacos and pizza. Sold. ($85 on Groupon)

Where Elad and Gabe will be living it up during SOBEWFF:

Elad: Hanging out with chef Michael Schwartz, who’s always hosting the best events. And having dinner with Gramercy Tavern.

Gabe: Attending A Powerful Pairing Dinner hosted by Masaharu Morimoto & Ming Tsai. And some underground after-parties.

The Broken Shaker crew will be doing as they do any time of the year, serving up savory nighttime eats from a brand new menu and crafting luscious cocktails like these, made from local ingredients, exotic fruits and fresh herbs from their garden out back.

Bonus: Around 4am, all the chefs are going to be assembling at Mac’s Club Deuce. But you didn’t hear it from us. (And we don’t know which day.)
